“God’s Book of Answers”
The Bible is the only book that has all the answers to life’s most important questions. It is the ultimate truth on every religious subject (Jn. 17:17, Ps. 119:160). In the Bible, God has given us the answers to all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). God’s inspired Word is able to thoroughly equip us for every good work (2 Tim. 3:16-17). Since the Bible does have all the answers, notice a couple of important questions we must let God answer.
Where did we come from? Many in our modern world would have us to believe we are descendants of lower life forms such as amebas, or apes. Others would say that over billions of years of time we exploded out of nothing into something. Friend, I don’t know about you, but these theories are very offensive to me and much of the human race. We are not a by-product of evolution, we are God’s creation! The Bible says, “In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth” (Gen. 1:1). The Bible also says, “…the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living being” (Gen. 2:7). Contrary to popular belief, our creation was the miraculous act of God. The Psalmist delighted in saying of God, “you formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well” (Psalm 139:13-14). Truly, the Bible has the answers to our origin!
How long will we be here? Since the fall of humanity in Genesis 3, man has been trying to regain the blessed eternal life. The Bible teaches us that we are not going to live on this Earth very long at all. We are promised 70, at most 80 years on this life (Ps. 90:10-12). James reminds us that our life is like a vapor, here for a little while and then it vanishes away (James 4:14). Job was made to realize that man who is born of woman is of few days… (Job. 14:1). Death could come to us at any time, for we must all die (Heb. 9:27). However, our death can be our victory. This is the paradox of Christianity. When we die in Christ, we are the winners (Rev. 14:13; Ps. 116:15). May each of us realize that life is about living for God and following His will for our lives. Truly, life is so, so short!
Since the Bible has all the answers to religious questions, in this weekly article I am going to begin a question and answer session every other week. If you will write your question on the space provided below or on another piece of paper and mail it to the address at the bottom of this article I will answer your question from the Bible to the best of my ability. You may ask any question you wish on matters of religious importance. In fact, to each person who writes in we will send a free complimentary copy of the Bible. May God Bless each of us as we study His Word.
