How to Serve God Faithfully

          1.  Give Yourself wholly to the Lord.  Paul praised the Macedonians because they first gave themselves to the Lord and then put their contribution in the collection plate (2 Cor. 8:5).  Jesus said, “No one, having put his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62).

            2.  Study God’s Word Daily.    To serve the Lord faithfully, I must understand what God wants me to do (Eph. 5:17).  The Christians in Berea were commended because they searched the Scriptures daily to see if what they were being taught was the truth (Acts 17:11).

            3.  Worship God Properly.  Jesus said, “God is a spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24).  To worship God properly, I must only do what He says (Col. 3:17; Prov. 30:6).  The practical application is that whatever I do in worship must have the approval of God.

God has made it possible for us to serve Him faithfully.  If we will only submit our will to His will we can be great servants of God.  May God give us the strength and courage to serve Him faithfully!
