God’s Plan for Reconciliation

I.  Christ had a God given Purpose.  “He made Him”  Jn 6:38

A.     Predetermined Purpose I Pet 1:20; 2 Tim 1:9-10

B.     Powerful Purpose Lk 19:10; I Tim 2:4-6; II Cor 8:9

C.     Prophesied Purpose Isa 7:14-Matt 1:23; Isa 53:5-I Pet 2:24

D.     Painful Purpose---Relate to pre-Calvary and Calvary events  Mk 15:15ff; Matt 27:26;

II.  Christ was the Perfect Person.

·        “who knew no sin”  I Pet 2:22; Heb 4:15

III.  Christ was the Proper Propitiation.

·        “to be sin on our behalf”  I Jn 2:2, I Jn 4:10

IV.  Christ has made us a Peculiar People.

·        “that we might become the righteousness of God” Titus 2:14; James 4:4, II Cor 6:17

V.  The Place for Reconciliation.

·        “in Him” (92 times in the NKJV)  Eph 1:3; Rom 8:1. Titus 2:11; Jn 1:17;, 2 Tim 2:1, Gal 3:27
