1. In 536 Zerubbabel rebuilds the temple. 2. In 457 Ezra restores the Law. 3. In 444 Nehemiah restores Jerusalem’s walls and gates.
IX. Interbiblical Period (400 Years) [This Period revolves around three political powers] 440-A.D. 1}.
A. Persian Rule (538-332). Three important changes occurred:
1. Increased political power of Jewish High Priests. 2. Synagogues occur. 3. Aramaic language replaces Hebrew.
B. Greek Rule (332-167, Alexander the Great). Three important changes:
1. Hebrews were greatly dispersed through Asia Minor. 2. Koine Greek language is national language. 3. Septuagint produced.
C. Roman Rule (167-through New Testament times).
1. An era of Peace occurred. 2. Roman roads were built which made it possible to travel quickly. 3. Roman legal system would make it more plausible to accept authority of Christ.
X. Life of Christ (Matt. 1-Acts 1, Birth to Ascension, 3 B.C.-30A.D.).
XI. Establishment and Expansion of the Church (Acts 2-Rev. 22, 66 year period, AD 30-96).
